A letter from Joy and Don Pollard

Dear All,

One of our voulunteer : Pei-Wen , received a letter from

Joy and Don Pollard as follows   Pei-Wen is glad to share

with all friends .

Dear Pei - Wen,

We received your letter a few days ago, and wish you good

luck with your campaign to get justice for Chiou Ho-Shun.

In our little Irish town of Clonakilty we have a memorial to

the people who were killed or suffered in the Tian An Men

massacre in 1989. Every year in June our local group of

Amnesty International has a meeting there, remembering

people who are imprisoned unjustly all over the world, with a

few readings, singing and so on.

This took place yesterday, and I explained Chiou Ho-Shun's

situation, and read out parts of his and your letter. We were

only a small group, but at least a few more people are

 aware of the case.

I will attach a photo of our Mayor, who attended the

meeting, and our group leader, standing by the stone.

And also an informal photo of our group. Don Pollard is in

the green shirt.

We admire the dedication with which you and your student

organisations are trying to correct unjust laws. It can be

very difficult to keep going, and our hearts go out to Chiou

and to others you are in a similar situation.

Let me know if you get this all right.

Our very best wishes, Joy and Don Pollard
